SUPPORTING DEAF CHILDREN
AND THEIR FAMILIES
IN DORSET
Welcome to the Dorset Deaf Children's Society website. We are a registered charity who organise events and activities to enable children and young people with a hearing loss, parents and families to meet each other and share their experiences and also have some fun!
We provide grants and equipment for children with a hearing loss and their families and also provide information to help families make informed choices for their children's education and welfare.
Membership is free for all families with a child or young person with a hearing loss living in Dorset or for supporters of children and young people with a hearing loss and their families living in Dorset.

PGL OSMINGTON BAY
PGL at Osmington Bay near Weymouth is an adventure activity centre. It is set in 45 acres of grounds with its own access to a beautiful pebble beach and stunning cliff top views of Weymouth and Portland. It is one of PGL’s biggest centres with superb facilities. Some of the activities enjoyed by our members are Zip Wire, Climbing, Archery, Giant Swing, Aeroball, Jacobs Ladder, Problem Solving, Abseiling and many more. Accommodation is in 4-6 bed chalets, all with en-suite bathrooms. The chalets have a fantastic position on the side of the hill and many have amazing views of the sea and coastline. The food provided is of excellent quality and they cater for everyone’s needs.

PGL actually stands for Peter Gordon Lawrence who was the man who started the company in the 1950’s but children often refer to PGL as ‘Parents Get Lost’ which of course does not apply to DDCS anymore as we now have Family weekends there!
