SUPPORTING DEAF CHILDREN
AND THEIR FAMILIES

Welcome to the Dorset Deaf Children's Society website. We are a registered charity who organise events and activities to enable children and young people with a hearing loss, parents and families to meet each other and share their experiences and also have some fun!
We provide grants and equipment for children with a hearing loss and their families and also provide information to help families make informed choices for their children's education and welfare.
Membership is free for all families with a child or young person with a hearing loss living in Dorset or for supporters of children and young people with a hearing loss and their families living in Dorset.

Granby Fun Factory
On Sunday 30th October at the end of the half term Dorset DCS members visited Granby Fun Factory in Weymouth for a fun afternoon of Quasar for the 7 – 14 year olds and indoor play centre for the 0 -11 year olds.
Parents were able to relax with a tea or coffee and watch their children as they explore the indoor playground, including “Battle Cannon” and “Firing Zone” or see them flying across the “High Glide” or shooting down the 4-lane “Astro Slide”. The little ones have a separate Toddler’s Activity Zone to play in and for the older children (and some rather big children i.e. mums and dads!) they were able to get rid of any surplus energy running around in Quasar!
DDCS information library was available to provide parents with any information they may need and after all the fun and excitement the children sat down to eat tea before travelling home.
It was great to see everyone having a great time and rounded of half term before the return to school!
