Welcome to the Dorset Deaf Children's Society website. We are a registered charity who organise events and activities to enable children and young people with a hearing loss, parents and families to meet each other and share their experiences and also have some fun!
We provide grants and equipment for children with a hearing loss and their families and also provide information to help families make informed choices for their children's education and welfare.
Membership is free for all families with a child or young person with a hearing loss living in Dorset or for supporters of children and young people with a hearing loss and their families living in Dorset.

If you become a member of National Deaf Children's Society that does not make you an automatic member of
Dorset Deaf Children's Society and vice versa.

Crazy Monsters 2012
On Sunday 21st October we tried a new venue for Dorset DCS. We met up at Crazy Monsters on the outskirts of Blandford. Crazy Monsters is the largest soft play in North Dorset so we knew it was a safe bet for a day of fun for our younger children. We were given our own parents area upstairs with plenty of tables and chairs, several nice soft sofas and complimentary orange and blackcurrant squash for the children to refuel with between their adventures in the play area.

Seventy two members attended including some very welcome new members. Starting at 11am the kids went off to play and explore in the adventure area giving the parents chance to chat with other families and for some to ease themselves into Sunday with a cup of tea or coffee.

Judging by the amount of empty plates by late lunchtime the on site cafe must have done a good business from our families and definately provided some good food - much of it delivered to our tables by their helpful staff.

Some photos from the day below - if some of them are blurred its because the kids were enjoying thmselves too much to keep still long enough - bet a lot of them slept well that night!
