Adventure Wonderland 2012
On Tuesday 3rd April, during the Easter holidays, DDCS members arrived at Adventure Wonderland for a great day out. The weather forecast was looking a bit dodgy but nothing like the snow that the north of England and Scotland were experiencing that day. This did not put anyone off and 143 members turned up!
DDCS had not been to the park at this time of year before as we have usually visited during the February half term as they have a large indoor play area more suitable for that time of year.
It did not disappoint, with over 28 fantastic rides and attractions throughout the park to entertain. From speedy rides like Turbo Teacups and Wild Bill’s Runaway Train through to more gentle rides like Curvy Caterpillars and Flying Elephants plus Animals Cuddle Corner. The indoors Wild Thing! Aztec play centre was packed with imaginative activities and there was a maze for all the family to experience. There was also regular appearances of all the Alice in Wonderland characters and the Mad Hatter Magic Show to keep the children entertained.
Some members met up for a picnic lunch which gave families a chance to meet up with old friends and make new ones. Unfortunately this was the time when the clouds came over and it decided to rain, so it was a quick dash for cover. But this did not spoil the day and everyone had a brilliant time!
