Family Fun Day & Hog Roast
DDCS has been organising this event for seven years now and it never fails to be popular. Over 200 members came along on Sunday 20th August for a fun packed day. We welcomed nine new families to this event and they were able to meet other families and children and of course have fun!
We were very lucky with the weather as during the week before we were being warned that a cyclone was headed in our direction but luckily this did not materialise during the day and we only had one small shower of fine rain and the main down poor did not arrive until everyone had gone home. Phew!
The Orangery in Wimborne is a great venue with games and activities such as Badminton, Beach Volley Ball, Basketball, Mini Golf, Petanque, Table Tennis, Giant Chess, Football Table, Climbing Net and a giant Connect Four. DDCS also organised the very popular inflatables and this year as well as the Minnions inflatable obstacle course, Dudley the Dinosaur and the giant slide we had Penalty Shoot Out! And for the younger children there were some animal hoppers.
We had brilliant face painting by Joanna (Lilliana’s mum) and Carla and Jamie Jambo came along again and did circus skills and balloon art with the children and also put on a show after lunch.
Jodie Forbes, our Chairman’s daughter, brought along Hazel and Bramble her performing dogs again this year with the added bonus of puppy Tulip. The children were able to interact with them and Jodie did a display with Hazel and Bramble to show all the tricks they can do.
The Hog Roast and BBQ was again provided by Roast around the Coast who worked hard to give a great service and the food was excellent. This was followed up with a visit from the Ice Cream van.
Another successful family day enjoyed by our members!
