DDCS CHRISTMAS PARTY

BIGGER AND BETTER!

Our 2009 Christmas party took place at St Marks Church Hall, Wallisdown on 28th November. Deaf children and their families came along to join in the fun and this year there was over 160 people! We hired an extra room this year to accommodate our rapidly growing guest list and this was after having moved to this bigger venue last year because of the increasing number of partygoers!

The party started with a delicious buffet including some very nice homemade cakes! The children kept themselves amused building and flying model aeroplanes, which gave the parents a chance to chat and enjoy the food. Then it was time for the entertainment, Balloonman!

Balloonman turned out to be a very talented balloon sculptor and the children loved it! Then, too much excitement, it was time for a very special visitor to arrive, Father Christmas! All the children received a gift and a balloon sculpture to take home and they also had their photograph taken. So the parents also received a Christmas gift from DDCS, a framed picture of their child with Father Christmas.

It is great to see so many of you coming along to the party, meeting up with friends and making new ones and the children mixing and playing together.
We are all looking forward to the next one and let’s hope it will be just as successful as 2009!
